DCI STEVE BURT MYSTERIES
AUTHOR JOHN REID
John Reid is the creator of the DCI Steve Burt series of thriller and suspense crime fiction at its very best.
Retirement has given John the time to fulfil his passion for writing, creating the mystery series through his unique creative process. Each main character is fully developed at the beginning of the writing process, with the part they play in each journey evolving organically within the confines of the underlying plot line. This freedom and flexibility creates inventive and compelling story telling that keeps the reader intrigued throughout.

Charity Fund
John is committed to helping others by sharing in any success that his novels have. A percentage of royalties earnt will be assigned to a charity fund that will support causes and initiatives that are close to John's heart.

We are delighted that the key beneficiary from the charity fund will be SENSE, a great charity that supports anyone living with complex disabilities. For anyone who is deafblind. Sense helps people communicate and experience the world. They, like John, believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.

Background
Starting his working life as a student lab tech in Dundee with the NHS was short-lived as the mundane daily routine drove John to join the army on a 3 year Short Service Commission and get the adventure he craved. With tours completed in Northern Ireland and the Middle East he certainly got that.
A distinguished and successful business career followed that culminated in managing the UK portfolio of a Geneva based investment house.
Now living in Portugal with wife Liz, when not typing with a single finger John can normally be found on the golf course, chasing Andre Rieu across Europe or watching motorsport, most probably Formula 1.
